BUFFY, THE VAMPIRE SLAYER AND THE HOLY GRAIL
PART 12
When we last saw our crusaders, they had just crossed the Bridge of Death. On the other side,
they found a path. They followed this path for quite some time until they reached a quaint little meadow where they rested.
During this rest, Lady Buffy had a dream which revealed to her the final resting place of the Holy Grail.
Now back to our story.

Lady Buffy awakens from her dream excited and refreshed. She then wakes the others.
Lady Buffy, the Vampire Slayer: "Giles! I had a dream. I know where the Grail is."
Sir Giles, the Wise: "Are you sure the dream showed you the way to the Grail?"
Lady Buffy: "Yes. In any case, it’s the best lead we’ve got."
Sir Giles: "Good point."
Lady Cordelia, the Self-Involved: "I hope you’re right. I can’t wait to go home. I need a shower."
Xander, King of the Cretins: "Yes, you do."
Lady Willow, The Pure: "Yes, and I miss school, too."
King Xander: "Will, you need help."
Lady Buffy takes a long look around the meadow.
Lady Buffy: "OK, that is the way to the Grail. Let’s go."
Lady Buffy leads the crusaders, who are down to just King Xander, Sir Giles, Lady Willow and
Lady Cordelia, across the meadow, through the woods, and over some very small mountains (or very big hills).
Lady Cordelia: "Are you sure this is the way? My feet are killing me."
Lady Buffy glares at Lady Cordelia in her "game face".
King Xander: "Cordy, now would probably be a good time to shut up."
Lady Cordelia just nods back.
Lady Buffy continues to lead on. She started walking briskly and the others had to struggle
to keep up. After a few hours, she stopped suddenly. King Xander and Lady Cordelia immediately sat down.
Sir Giles: "What’s wrong?"
Lady Buffy: "There it is."
Ahead is a lake with a castle on an island in the middle of it.
Lady Willow: "Wow."
Sir Giles: "So, there lies the great and mighty Holy Grail."
Lady Cordelia: "It’s about time."
King Xander: "Yeah, lets just get it and go."
Lady Cordelia: "What are we going to do, walk on water?"
Lady Willow: "Well, we can take that boat."
Everyone: "Huh?"
Lady Willow: "Over there."
Lady Willow points to a small, yet ornately decorated boat at a little dock, way off to the
right.
Lady Buffy: "Oh, that boat. Let’s go."
Sir Giles: "Here’s hoping that the whole of the dream was correct."
King Xander: "Yeah, what he said."
They walk all the way over to the boat and climb in. There are five seats and four oars.
Sir Giles: "Lady Willow, would you sit up front and navigate. Lady Cordelia, why don’t you sit next to Xander and
take an oar."
Lady Cordelia: "Why do I have to do all the work?"
King Xander: "Hey, we’re rowing too."
Lady Cordelia: "But Willow doesn’t have to row."
Sir Giles: "We need her to navigate. Besides, you are more athletic."
Lady Willow: "Hey. I can row."
Lady Cordelia: "See, she want to row."
Lady Buffy: "OK, that’s it, everybody shut up, sit down and row. Willow, navigate."
Everyone: "OK."
King Xander: "Just remember, we’re not vampires. Try not to slay us."
So they row, more or less straight, out to the island. They shore up at a little dock identical
to the one they left. There are no other boats here.
Lady Willow: "Maybe no-one’s home."
Lady Buffy: "That would be a nice change."
Sir Giles: "Well, this path should lead right around to the front gate."
They follow the path around to the front gate. Lady Buffy attempts to open it, but it is locked.
She bangs on the large iron knocker. A few moments later, the gate slowly opens.
Sir Giles: "Oh my God."
Lady Buffy: "I don’t believe it."
Principal Snyder: "Believe it, Buffy. Why am I not surprised to find the four of you cutting school together? And Mr. Giles,
I really hope you have a good explanation for why you are here, and why you are all dressed like this."
Sir Giles: "This is an historical field trip. They are learning about mediaeval times. Hence our costumes."
Principal Snyder: "Nope. I don’t by it. Now if you’ll just all come with me, school is in session."
Lady Buffy: "But, but, we need the Grail."
Principal Snyder: "You need a shower. And an education. Maybe some jail time. Truant Officers Bailey and Johnson will get
you back to class. You can clean up in the gym locker rooms. Mr. Giles, I’d like to see you in my office when we get
back."
Principal Snyder and the two officers lead our crusaders through to the back entrance to the
castle. There is a van waiting there to take them off the island across a bridge at the rear of the island.
Lady Buffy: "But."
Lady Cordelia: "Sir, we really..."
Principal Snyder: "One more word out of any of you, and I’ll have you all thrown out of school."
They get in the van and drive away.
