Becker's Game of Death
Objects of the Game: To make everyone else drink more than you do.
To have fun.
Rules:
Deal out all of the cards.
2 of Diamonds starts.
The next player has two choices:
A) Throw down a card of the same suit, or
B) Throw down a card of the same numerical value If the player can
do neither A or B, then that player passes and takes a drink. Once a legally playable card is thrown, it cannot be taken back.
Throwing cards:
If a player throws out a card of the same suit, with a higher numerical
value, that is between 2-10, no drinks are taken by anyone.
Example: The 2 of Diamonds is thrown, the next player throws the 6
of Diamonds. Play moves on to the next player, and no one drinks.
If the card is less that 10, but lower than the previous card, that
player must drink one drink per each value the new card is lower than the previous card.
Example: A 9 of Clubs is thrown, the next card thrown is the 3 of Clubs.
This player must drink 6. Play moves on.
If the card is a face card, the player must do what that card requires.
Changing Suit:
You change suit by throwing out a card of the same numerical value
as the previously thrown card. If the card is a Face Card. You must do what that card requires. When you change a suit (Breaking
Suit) the player who threw the previous card has to drink one. If the card is a face card, the player must do what that card
requires.
Example: I throw the 4 of Spades. You Break my suit with the 4 of Hearts.
I drink one.
Values of Face Cards:
Black Face Cards give. Red Face Cards take.
Ace of Spades: Give 20
King of Spades: Give 8
Queen of Spades: Give 6
Jack of Spades: Give 4
Ace of Hearts: Take 5
King of Hearts: Take 4
Queen of Hearts: Take 3
Jack of Hearts: Take 2
Ace of Clubs: Give 5
King of Clubs: Give 4
Queen of Clubs: Give 3
Jack of Clubs: Give 2
Ace of Diamonds: Take 10
King of Diamonds: Take 8
Queen of Diamonds: Take 6
Jack of Diamonds: Take 4
You may split up the drinks that you give out, but you can not split
the drinks you must take. If a player throws out a black face card, the next player may not play a card until the previous
player has assigned all of their drinks. If you throw out a red Ace, you do not have to wait until you have finished your
drinks before throwing your next card. If you throw a black Ace, you must give out those drinks before starting again.
Passing:
You may pass, if and only if, you have no legal cards to play. As long
as you have a legally playable card, you must throw it. Even if it requires you to drink heavily. If you pass, you must drink
one. Passing while holding legally playable cards is considered cheating. See Cheating section for penalty.
Special Rules:
The Ace:
If an Ace is thrown, the player must due what that card requires. Then
the cards are swept off of the playing surface, and that player restarts play. If the player who threw the Ace has no more
cards left to throw, the game ends.
Broken Suit Social:
Usually just called a social, this occurs when all four cards of the
same value are thrown consecutively. All players drink one. Plus the last player whose suit was broken still drinks one for
the broken suit. If the card is a face card, the player must do what that card requires.
Example: 5 players in game. Player A throws the 5 of Clubs. Player
B throws the 5 of Diamonds. Player A drinks one. Player C throws the 5 of Hearts. Player B drinks one. Player D throws the
5 of Spades. Player C drinks one. All players, including C and E (who did not throw a 5) drink one.
Sweeping the cards:
Cards are only swept off the tabe under two circumstances. 1) When
an Ace is thrown (See above rule) and 2) When a person throws a card and everyone else passes so that when it's their turn
again, they were the last person to throw a card. The sweeper is the dealer for the next round. The next dealer is the player
to the left of the current dealer. This person is the sweeper regardless if there will be another round. The dealer changes
clockwise for each round.
Note: If the Sweeper throws down the Ace of Spades, it is not recommended
to then say, "Sweep it yourself, bitch," unless you are very thirsty.
Illegally played cards:If a player throws out a card which neither
follows suit or value of the previously thrown card. That player is penalized 2 drinks. The illegally thrown card is put back
in that players hand, and the player throws a legal card or passes.
Black Face Card Penalty:
If the game ends, and a player is still holding Black Face Cards, this
player is penalized for not making others drink. The player drinks the value that the card would normally give.
Example: The game ends and you are holding the King of Spades in your
hand still. Instead of giving 8, you take the 8 drinks. There is no penalty for Red Face Cards in your hand at the end of
the game.
Delay of Game Penalty:
This is a judgement call penalty. If a player is doing something that
is stopping the play of the game, the other players may vote to give this person a delay of game penalty of one drink. Bathroom
breaks are exempt. Also exempt is a player getting more alcohol for the game or talking to an "official." (A waiter/waitress/bartender)
Also eligible for a Delay of Game Penalty drink is a player who is obviously delaying drinking a previous drink.
D'oh! Drinks:
These are drinks you get for doing something that makes you say, "D'oh!"
Examples:
Telling someone to drink the wrong number of drinks.
Throwing a card before the current player has assigned all of their
drinks.
Going out of turn.
Throwing illegal cards by accident.
Throwing out multiple cards at once.
Spilling your drink.
Spilling someone else's drink.
Dropping your cards.
Misdealing the cards.
Trying to give out drinks on a take card.
Falling out of your chair onto the floor.
Choosing StGermain as your sober partner.
Passing out. (Drink may be waived)
Tripping while attempting to head to the bathroom.
Accidentally triggering Global Thermonuclear War.
Forgetting it is your turn.
Forgetting to drink.
Forgetting your name.
Ending the Game:
There are two ways to end the game:
A) A player throws an Ace and has no further cards to restart with.
B) Once play returns to the first person who threw out their last card.
Example: 5 players. Player 1 throws out the 9 of Clubs and no longer
has any cards left. Player 2 passes (takes a drink for passing), Player 3 also passes. player 4 throws out a 9 of Hearts.
(Player 1 drinks for a Broken Suit) Player 5 throws out a 10 of hearts. Player 1 has no cards left to throw, game ends.
Cheating:
If a player is caught cheating, that player must chug/drink two whole
beverages and is removed from the game. Yes, 2 whole drinks, not just 2 sips. The player must be found guilty by a majority
of the other players. This will protect against unfair teamwork.
Things considered cheating:
Hiding cards. Cards may not be removed from your hand and put elsewhere.
This includes bras and other people's hands. This is also called the "-mere- Law."
Trading cards.
Taking cards that have been played already.
Passing while holding a playable card.
Not taking legally received drinks.
Making someone drink for no reason. Must have malicious intent, and
can only be penalized by the person that was duped into drinking. This saves you if the person you falsely made drink was
thirsty.
Fixing the deck.
Falsely accusing someone of cheating.
Knowingly and Purposefully breaking the rules of the game.

Special Note: The game does not endorse underage drinking. A player
can play the game without drinking an achoholic beverage as long as everyone playing agrees that this person can play and
knows this fact.
